Caroline and
Matt Just
to thank you once again for giving us such a great start to our
holiday. It is such a wonderful place, the area is just beautiful
and life seems so much more relaxed and slightly slower paced but
still things clearly get done. A perfect balance unlike most places
where everybody is in a rush and trying to do everything at once
therefore not getting anywhere or not having time to acknowledge
each other. We did get to Chamonix and Murray summed it up really
well by saying that around that area people are working in cafes,
restaurants and lodgings because they have to work and need the
pay and don't seem to enjoy it. The mountains were spectacular and
the scenery amazing but it seemed to be taken for granted that tourists
need find somewhere to stay and somewhere to eat. The scenery, the
mountains are what the area is about. In Le Mont Dore everybody seems
more real and working is a way of life and tourists mix with the
locals and it is a welcoming place. A warm and safe place to be.
Even at Lac Chambon with all the activities that could sell themselves,
people were friendly, helpful and welcoming. All around the area
in fact.It is great to see how you both seem to have been accepted
locally and fit in to Le Mont Dore. You accommodation is excellent
and the facilities of lounge, terrace, internet, not to mention
the wine and drinks, just added to a relaxed stay and making it
comfortable and welcoming.Much more than the other places we stayed
(a posh hotel, a basic hotel and a B&B near Chamonix) The others
were very impersonal and I suppose more what we would expect. You
seem to have the perfect life there and it may well be easy to say
that after just 4 days (with good weather) I am sure it is hard
work but I can't help but envy the lifestyle so not much sympathy. So
a big thank you for spoiling your guests and for being such great
hosts.Audrey and Murray |

Hi Caroline
& Matt, We
had a great time in Le Mont Dore last week and I must say that a
large part of that was due to yourselves. The booking was easy and
your directions easy to follow, even for me which is saying something.
The accommodation had a great cozy atmosphere and all our needs
were well catered for, eg great breakfast, spotless room, comfy
bed and good information about the area . It was also reassuring
to know that our bikes were in safe storage and easy to get to.
The complimentary wine and cool drinks was a great touch that made
the whole stay so relaxed.I know that you are relatively new to
the business but what you have done so far is excellent and I am
sure you are on the right road to making a complete success of it.
We will definitely be back in the future.Kindest regards
Helena and Wayne |
